In preparation for the 2021 digital switch over, BT broadband customers will receive a free BT Vision Box worth £199. The BT Vision Box has a Digital TV recorder, which can record 80 hours of digital programmes. It can also pause and rewind live TV. The BT Vision Box has more facilities then Freeview and has no annual contract. There is a choice of film and sport packages from £6 a month, Setanta Sports from £9.99 or pay as you go options on programmes. Seventy digital TV and radio channels come as standard that includes music, kids and entertainment shows, but films can be purchased from £1.99 each and there are 242 Premier League games from 99p per game. If new BT Total Broadband customers want the free BT Vision Box there is a one off £30 connection fee then the rest is up to you and you will already be ready for the digital switch over. Whitehaven was the first town to switch over from analogue to digital broadcasting earlier this month. The West Country, Wales, Granada and Border are all due to switch in 2009. Meridian, Anglia, Yorkshire and Scottish central will switch in 2011 and London, Northern Ireland and Tyne Tess will be the last to switch over in 2012.
